Darkest Days CDA

First attempt at a Cascade Dark Ale (black IPA). I made up the recipe, which is loosely based on the Sierra Nevada PA Clone I made on the same day--only black--with a crap load more hops :)

Ingredients:
10 lbs 2-row
2 lbs Crystal 60L
1 lbs Carafa III

Hops:
1.25 oz Cascade (First Wort Hops)
1.5 oz Cascade @ 60
1.5 oz Cascade @ 30
1.5 oz Cascade @ 0
2.0 oz Cascade Dry Hopped

Water:
1.15 liter water to lbs of grain
3.5 gallons of sparge

Yeast:
Safale 05

Notes:
8-1-2010--Really excited about this. First time doing first wort hops.
8-8-2010--Just took a reading: 1.030. I'll let it sit for another week or two. Sample tasted hoppy with a slight smokey flavor from the Carafa.
8-12-2010--Kegged. Dry hopped with 2 ounces of Cascade.
8-23-2010--HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Now been married 7 glorious years. On a separate note...this Dark Ale is nice and tasty! I think I'm going to make this one a house ale.
